Your wedding decoration
Personalized decoration, the pleasure of showing who you are.
How do I decorate the estate where I'm getting married?
You've got your wedding venue. It's beautiful, you like it and you're already there. What a dream! The date is set, the town hall is booked and so is the church. You send everyone a "save the date", to give yourself time for the invitations, because you want your wedding to have a certain unity, a common thread that runs right through the invitations.
So you immerse yourself in the only thing that interests you:
How will I decorate my wedding?
Before you start decorating, take a few minutes (as many as you like) to ask yourself a few preliminary questions:
In this article, we'll answer these 3 questions and explain their logic, then we'll present all the photos on our Instagram account and in this article. So keep up with us, and make the most of your wedding preparations to get together and chat.
1. What characterizes us?
The first step is to define the things that characterize you, to define your values.
Looking inward is always interesting and beneficial. Here you have two things to consider: your personal values and the values of your couple.
They can be the same, in which case you'll be up and running in no time. Or they may be completely different, in which case you'll either have to find a compromise or choose two different values, with the risk of ending up with something a little too far apart.
There's no limit, but choosing a maximum of 3 or 4 allows you to make a selection and avoid spreading yourself too thin. If you can sum it all up in one sentence, you've done it.
Example: "Adventure, trust and respect are fundamental values for us".
2. What do we like?
With this list or sentence, you're naturally on your way to the second question:
What do I/we like, or not?
Doing it together is the key to success. You'll be able to confront your two points of view. It's always good to have a debate as a couple, so do it in a calm and fun way. Accept each other's tastes and find compromises together.
This discussion will allow you to bring out simple things like colors, or activities you love, or a particular cuisine based on your origins, or any other choice you like.
When you're passionate about everything, it can be easier to work on the things you don't like: I'm allergic to such and such a flower, I don't like the dark, or crowds, ...
In short, everything you like and don't like. You make a joint list because, as we keep saying, it's a couple's job.
Example: "I love sports, gold, orchids, travel and the sea and I hate seafood, I don't like black and I'm claustrophobic."
The same logic applies here: once everyone's tastes have been identified, it's time to compare them with those of your partner, to find common ground and make some decisions.
3. How do I illustrate it?
The hardest part, unless you've worked hard on the first two questions.
So, you've got your shared values, you've got your shared tastes, all that's left is to mix it all up.
Several recipes are available:
To go back to the first example, if you like adventure, you might well consider taking travel as your theme, as it's one of the easiest to illustrate.
And since you also want to have gold and orchids, you're going to focus on gold, of course, and white, for example, which is an orchid color.
The idea is to mix and match the lists you've drawn up, and then stick to them. In the invitation, the seating plan, the guest book, the little touches you'll leave in your guests' rooms, the witnesses' outfits, the flowers and even your guests' outfits (be careful not to overcomplicate things either), etc...
To illustrate our point, we offer you a selection of photos and decorations for your wedding by mixing photos of different weddings that have taken place at Château de Tilly.
